Happy Anniversary to Us! A Facebook memory from 2023 reminded us that it's exactly a year since Ed and I set up Herefordshire Young and Young Adult Carers as a Community Interest Company. It's not always easy to keep the service running, with just the two of us covering all the bases, or to keep the funding coming in, but it is always incredibly rewarding working with these amazing young people. We love what we do, thank you for supporting us ❤️

It was our #YoungCarers Christmas Party last night, and we'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone who donated gifts to the @dunelmuk Delivering Joy campaign. Our youngsters were absolutely thrilled to receive their presents. They give so much to others and it was lovely for them to receive something for themselves ❤️

Ed and I were at the Kindle Centre bright and early, to give a talk about #YoungCarers and #YoungAdultCarers at this morning's #CarersRightsDay event. We took the opportunity to show off our new banner and coordinating leaflets, all to help raise awareness and encourage carers to get in touch and access support.

It's officially Spooky Season! We had our annual #Halloween #YoungCarers club last night and it was a terrifying combination of scary costumes, silly games and creative crafts. So much fun!

We headed off to the @herefordshire_business_awards on Saturday, as finalists in the Charity or Social Enterprise of the year category. We didn't win but we did get to put on our best frocks and meet some lovely people. We are immensely proud of all we have achieved over the past year (and beyond) and are delighted to have our work, and our incredible #YoungCarers and #YoungAdultCarers, recognised and celebrated ❤️ #HereBA #HMBiz

We are absolutely thrilled to announce that we are finalists in the Herefordshire Business Awards Charity or Social Enterprise of the Year! We are so grateful for all the support we've had to help us continue our vital work with #YoungCarers and #YoungAdultCarers. We started Herefordshire Young and Young Adult Carers CIC in December 2023 with nothing but goodwill and a determination not to let down the incredible young people in Herefordshire who are providing care for a loved one. They have to keep going and so will we. Without the generosity of the community and the willingness of our tiny team to work non-stop, unpaid, for months, we couldn't have come this far. We are delighted to be considered for this award, among such worthy fellow finalists, @herefordshire_cf and @herefordshirevennture ❤️

Our first #YoungCarers club back after the summer

Our first #YoungCarers club back after the summer break was a good one! We were so happy to meet up with each other again and welcome new members to the group, with lots of games to play and arts and crafts to enjoy. We were also visited again by the lovely Linus Project ladies, who kindly donated more handmade, beautiful quilts for the children. They loved them, thank you so much ❤️
