Herefordshire Young Carers Club is entirely funded by grants and donations. Originally part of Herefordshire Carers Support, when that organisation ended in 2019, I was made redundant and the pot of money for Young and Young Adult Carers was transferred to hvoss (Herefordshire Voluntary Organisations Support Service). Since 2019 I have delivered the service on a self-employed, freelance basis and have no direct access to funding myself.
The Children in Need grant held by hvoss ends on March 31st. I have been unable to obtain confirmation that there is funding available to continue to provide clubs after the Easter break so have been unable to book any dates for next term and am placing new referrals on hold. As a sole trader I am unable to apply for grants or funding myself but rest assured I am trying very hard to find a way to continue to deliver the service our Young Carers need.
The HYCC website and social media channels are all run by myself and they won’t be going anywhere. There may be a short break before clubs are back but I am still only ever a message away.
